Hello everyone,
I’m experiencing an issue with SketchUp Web and hope someone can help me solve it. When I open my project in SketchUp Web, all the tools, including the tags, work perfectly. However, when I share the file through a link, the tags and other functions seem to be locked. I’ve tried this on a Windows computer, and the same thing happens on a Mac. I also tested it on a phone running iOS version 18, and in two earlier versions, the tags worked without any issues.
Does anyone know what I can do to ensure that when I share the project via a link, the user can turn the tags on and off?
I would greatly appreciate any help or advice.
Hi,
I’ve already done what you suggested, but I’m still experiencing the same issue when I share it via the link. The other person can open it, but the tags stop working, along with other functions. This doesn’t happen when I open it on my devices, but something seems to change when it’s opened from the shared link.
It appears to be a restriction of the “Share” process. There is very little you can change when viewing via the share link. Scenes are active, so I get around the problem by creating the Scenes I think my client will want to see e.g. with appropriate Tag settings.
I haven’t got to the next stage with TC, but I believe if you invite others to Sign In (join) TC then as part of your team they can visually change the model and possibly edit it depending on assigned permissions. That’s the next stage I need to get my head round.
