Tags are not visible in SketchUp viewer

I have an issue with tags. I’ve made and saved tags in the Sketchup file, but the option of tags doesn’t appear whe I open the file in Sketchup viewer.
I also get a warning when I open SKP files in viewer that doesn’t make any sense to me.
It says:
"The file that you are trying to open was made in a newer version of SketchUp. If you continue some data may be lost or displayed incorrectly. (newer??)

We recommend that you visit Download All | SketchUp | SketchUp to download and install the latest version of SketchUp."

But I have the latest version unless the 2025 has arrived, and I downloaded the viewer yesterday.
I have followed the tag creation to a tee and I opened a test file with tags turned off in the viewer, and it appeared empty.
I am at my wits end here, and I really need this for work.
My Sketchup files are useless for people that only have the viewer if they cannot turn tags on and off.

The viewer is meant to be a viewer. You can create scenes in your model with different tags turned on or off, and the viewers can switch between them.

I did this as a work around, but I hoped that there was a better solution because when you have very complex designs with HVAC, structural engineering, electrical fitting’s etc it quickly becomes an avful lot of scenes. But if there’s no other way, 30 scenes it is. Thank you for taking the time to ansver. Much appreciated.

Import your SU model into a new file as a component. In the new file set up the scenes you want to share. Save this file with a new name and share. When you change the source model all you have to do is update the component in the share file and save it to the same share location. You should check the scenes in the share file if you have created new tags or added objects.
