Hello- I am trying to model on sketch-up and for some reason the sunlight is not entering into the model. I have tried adjusting the shadows, sunlight, adding a dome light… I feel like I have exhausted the options. The file is too large to attache but, here is a screen shot showing my issue. I have even deleted out the glass in the windows. Just a couple of days ago I was not having this issue.
That worked. How was your model created? It’s a mess with a lot of triangulation that shouldn’t be needed. I turned on Shadows and set the time and date as shown. The sun enters the building as expected.
By the way, it would be a good idea to clean up your model. Fixing all that triangulation would be helpful. Also correct tag usage.
Purge unused stuff and reduce the size of materials and simplify the entourage components. After purging and reducing the largest texture images the file size reduced by 49%.
Thank you! This is a file from an architect (using chief Architect). I did not build it- just applying material and slight adjustments on my end. I know… it bothers me so much. But, i’ve just decided to roll with it for this project.
Very sorry- I was not sure that the problem was occurring in VRay. I thought it may have been settings in sketch-up. My mistake. Thank you for your help.
I f you use the cleanup3 plug-in, it could get rid of some of the unnecessary lines on your model. Have you tried with different rendering engines to check if it’s something related with Vray? I haven’t used Vray in a decade so I can’t give you an advice, but I’ll check it using enscape and twinmotion as soon as I can.
