- Crashes after (or near) completion of opening
- Tried rebooting
- Done a repair install with the latest installer (yes, I ran as Admin)
- Tried logging out (via layout) and back in
- Everything working yesterday
- The only change in the system is a new monitor yesterday (1080p to 4k), but it was working yesterday after the new monitor.
- Tried the old ‘rename the Plugin folder to get the defaults’ trick but it still crashes on startup
- Sent a couple of bug reports
This one’s got me, I’ve changed nothing (apart from the monitor)
Edit 1:
Ummm, it IS something to do with the new monitor … or more probably the desktop/icon/toolbar layout. When I unplug both monitors and only use the laptop screen, it works.
Isn’t there a pref’s file I can delete to reset things … I remember it be it being posted about previously.
Edit 2:
Annnnd it’s fixed, why? I don’t know, but this time on the 4k, there was a brief flash of the ‘smaller’ layout before everything rearranged to suit. I’m assuming running it on the laptop solo ‘reset’ something.
Edit 3:
It happened again so I followed this post and deleted the pref’s file. It reset all my toolbars etc, but re-arranging them is a small price to pay for a working setup.
I’ll leave this post here so that it may help someone in the future with a similar problem.
