SU & LO keep crashing says not enough application support but that's not true

Is Dave the Sage around?

Yes.

I don’t understand the message you state. Can you show a screenshot of the message? Are you still using SketchUp 2024? What Mac OS version? What graphics card?

OK, so SketchUp 2026. Not clear on the OS version but it should be visible. That information is helpful when it’s in your forum profile.

Can you make a screenshot of the error message and show that?

Is it that your computer doesn’t have enough resources to allow you to have SketchUp and LayOut open? Does this just happen if you have a model open? If so, how large is the model?

33.6 mb model

Can I send you the su and lo files?

I’ll look at the files. It might be a good idea to remove them from DropBox if the LO file contains any sensitive info.

No sensitive info…..thx

Your files open on my PC without any trouble. The only problem I see is incorrect tag usage in the SketchUp file but that shouldn’t prevent the file from opening.

Where have you saved the files? To a cloud location? Are you trying to open them directly from DropBox, for example?

Opening from the su and lo applications since they are crashing. Saved in a folder in Documents.

I can also open your files on my Mac, so it is not a Windows vs Mac issue. In addition to what @DaveR mentioned, I notice that some entourage elements are pretty “heavy”. For example, the Biarritz Dining Chairs each contain about 75000 edges, making 14 of them add up to over a million edges. However, the model is still workable on my old (2019) Intel MacBook Pro.

Maybe I’ll change some of that furniture then.

See anything else? Gotta go to a meeting….check in again later ok…..thx

Is that really a local folder or is it a link to the cloud somewhere. It can look like you’re saving to an internal folder but aren’t really.

I didn’t dig into the components like Steve did but I expect there’s a bunch of cleanup that could be done to reduce the file size. All this leads me to think that it’s a problem with your computer not having enough resources (memory) to open the files. Although you could reduce the file size with leaner entourage, it really isn’t that huge and your computer ought to be able to handle them.
