Sketch Up Crash

Hi

I’m new to Sketch Up and need it for my diploma of interior design

Every time I try to open a sketch up file from school, it opens, then it suddenly crash after a few second. It doesn’t seem to be a heavy file, when I open infos it says 8.700.767 bytes (17,4 MB on disk)

When I open a new file on Sketch Up, it seems to work but it’s very slow

Can you please help me fix this issue I appreciate your time in advance

Thank you

It opens, when I click on Existing Floorplan, it shows this, quits instantly and says “Sketch Up quit unexpectedly.”

I’m not a Mac user, but based on your hardware I’m guessing you’re probably running macOS 12 Monterey. Sketchup 2024 doesn’t really “like” this. (Especially not with the new Graphics Engine…)

Try to open a new file and switch to the classic Graphics Engine, In the new Graphics section of the Preferences window:
(perhaps also switch off the “Use Maximum Texture Size” if it is ticked)

Exit Sketchup and try opening the existing model.

Your forum profile shows wrong info, which impedes us helping you! SketchUp for schools is a web-based version for children, yet your screenshot shows SketchUp 2024. 2024 is not a version of macOS. You can find out the actual version of macOS as well as your graphics by clicking the Apple icon at top left of your screen and choosing “about this Mac”. From what you included in your post I see that you are running an old MacBook Air with a modest amount of RAM. That suggests it may not be compatible with the new graphics engine in SketchUp 2024. Please try what @dezmo suggested and see if it helps.
