c. Go to C:\Users\UserName\AppData\Local and delete the “3Dconnexion” folder found here as well.
d. Before proceeding with the next steps, it’s recommended to make a backup of the registry. You can find instructions on how to backup the registry on Microsoft’s website: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/322756/how-to-back-up-and-restore-the-registry-in-windows
e. Click the “Start” button and type “regedit” in the search box. Hit “Enter” to open the Registry Editor. In the Registry Editor, navigate to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software and look for the “3Dconnexion” folder. Right-click on it and select “Delete” to remove it.

I think I did restart computer at this stage…
Reinstall the current 3Dconnexion driver. You can download the latest version from the 3Dconnexion website. Follow the prompts to install the driver on your system.
I have an app that everyday checks if there are new drivers for everything, the devices, processor, gpu, Bluetooth etc. Then notifies me and asks me if I want to install them, I usually install of the drivers except the gpu ones, I have Nvidia GeForce experience software, and have set my gpu to use the studio drivers instead of the gaming ones, and the other software doesn’t check that.
interesting…what is the name of this app, please?
There are some softwares that can do this, some are paid but there are also free, I use avast driver update cause it came together with my antivirus, I know a free one called driver pack, but for Nvidia drivers the best is GeForce experience, cause you can choose if you want to download gaming or studio drivers, the other softwares usually download gaming drivers.
