maybe got some issues with the original package installer jus wait they are testing it on trimble labs :x

Same issue here - can’t login. I’m getting a “We are experiencing technical difficulties” page. I logout and log back in but nothing is working. Also on a Mac. M2 MacBook Pro. I told my engineer to not download the new version. I have ■■■■ I need to get done!

2024 should still be installed unless you removed it. Each major version does a clean install leaving the previous untouched.

Get back to work. Wait a week or two and let others deal with the bugs…

You may need to go to the license manager site, deauthorize all, and then sign in. There have been some glitches in the license management system before this, not just for 2025.

Yeah, One of the troubleshooting things that SketchUp suggested was deleting the old version of the software because it could’ve been causing a conflict with the new one. I made the mistake of following their advice… I should’ve known better…

I just love sketch up, first it just crashes all the time at least once a day.

Next, I upgraded to the newer version it won’t start,

Now I go back to the old version.
It tells me that I have exceeded my allowed activations

I only have one device. I’m confused, how I can have too many activations.

To see the too many activation message, SketchUp must have opened successfully. Try opening 2024 and signing out from there, then sign out and in again with 2025.

We have this video showing how to deauthorize all: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=94wva3ezxBE&t=10s

It’s a bit older (showing SU 2022), but the Account Management Portal stuff is all still relevant. Might help you out. I have run into this issue on Mac when I thought I had deleted old versions, but there were still secretly kicking around. I ended up with 2022–2025 and a Labs build even though I hadn’t used 2022 or 2023 in over a year. Just one machine, still too many activations. What solved it for me was following the video above + delete old installs and empty the trash. Emptying the trash was a critical step for me.

Hope that helps. If you don’t see the manage activations button, you can access your account here: Trimble | Account Management

I have received the “This device is not authorized.” error in SketchUp Pro Ver.2025. I have signed out of Ver.2024, deauthorized the license on the Account Manager. Signed in and been looped over and over again. I am able to sign into Ver.2024 again (thank goodness), but I am unable to clear the license and sign into Ver.2025. I have followed all the advice on this forum thread … not sure what to do next.

Did you get window that says deauthorize all on your sketchup account?

Yes - and I clicked the “deauthorize” button, got balloons, and clicked “done”. No effect.

I have seen that error after deauthorizing all devices, but I still had another copy of SketchUp open at the time. Make sure you have all copies of SketchUp and LayOut closed, before opening 2025 and signing in there.

Thanks for the advice. Can you please remove your quoted text.
