I’ve been experimenting with the new Snaps feature, and how to refine the behaviour using Component Attributes. One thing that works really well is setting the height using Position Z = 0.
Less successful is my attempt to stop the component flipping down onto the floor …
In case anyone wants to have a go - here’s the version that snaps to the floor: position and snaps.skp (594.7 KB)
I am not at SketchUp now but I would make a component like this to stick to the floor simply by setting its Glue To property to either Any Or Horizontal. The component’s red/green plane should be at its bottom.
I’ve never really got on with glue-to! This is my attempt to make it work:
It certainly stops it flapping onto it’s back, but it seems to get in the way of the snaps function. Unless I’m done something wrong? gluing and snaps.skp (579.4 KB)
