Sketchup2025 not sending to layout

Hello,
I recentlt downloaded SU2025 and have just tried sending to layout from SU, layout opens but there is no template, it doesnt seem to link to SU. Can anyone advise how to fix this? Many thanks, Ben

Did you install SketchUp 2025 correctly? That requires right clicking on the downloaded installer and selecting Run as administrator.

Thanks Dave, I shall uninstall and reinstall as you say. Hopefully that works

Hi Dave, I have uninstalled and installed right clicking and selecting run as administrator but I am having the same issue. Do you have any ideas why this may be?

Is it not working for one particular model or just not sending to Layout on any model created?

Can you open layout separately? Do you get the welcome screen and the chance to create a new document using existing templates?

Probably a holdover from the incorrect installation. Do the following:

Quit SketchUp and LayOut if they are open.

In File Explorer, paste in this path:

%AppData%\SketchUp\SketchUp 2023\LayOut\

Look for and delete any files with .plo as the extension.

Do a cold reboot of your computer. Open a SketchUp file and try the Send to LayOut thing again.

Hi Cappo, Its just not sending to layout fullstop.
Yes, I can open layout seperately and do get a welcome screen and can create a new doc with the default templates, i do not have any of my own templates.

Thanks again Dave, unfortunately i am getting the same results after following your instructions. This has never happened before with older versions of Sketchup. If you have any other thoughts, id be grateful

Maybe @adam can suggest something. The behavior you are seeing is not normal.

Thoughts:

  1. LayOut & SketchUp have to be in the same directory.
  2. Launch LayOut and just try to insert the skp model.
  3. What are your defaults in LayOut on Startup: make sure you can open LayOut to the template you expect.

Any other clues appreciated.

Thank you all for your help. I have save a new model which has worked. Not sure why the model I am working on does not send to layout, will investigate further

I think the issue may have been having two models with similar names in the same file, one file was called “cabin 2” and the other “cabin 2.0”, I change the file name to “cabin two” and it has now worked. Not sure if that was issue or if me linking a new model to layout prior to this solved the problem. But it works. Thanks again, much appreciated
