SketchUp will not enable access

I have tried to signup our School District twice now and I get no response from Sketchup. Our 6th grade and high school students all want to start using it but SketchUp won’t enable our account. How do I light a fire under SkethUp to get is going here? Opening support requests do nothing as well.

Hi @isd876,

SketchUp for Schools is deployed by each School’s G Suite for EDU Administrator. SketchUp is not capable of enabling, disabling, or deploying to your School’s G Suite account. For instructions on how to deploy, please see this article from Google’s help center.

Sketchup for schools is already enabled on our end. When staff and students click the Sketchup for schools app it asks the users to login then gives them an error: SketchUp for Schools is only available for students and teachers in primary and secondary education programs.

Can you help us to understand your issue by providing answers to the following questions? Please be aware that there isn’t a switch to turn on access for a specific School; rather, each School is automatically given access provided they are a Primary or Secondary School (as defined by Google) signed up with G Suite for Education. Unique instances, like this, will require time for us to look in to, and we appreciate your patience.

  • Are you the School’s IT administrator, capable of deploying apps from the G Suite Marketplace?
  • Are you attempting to access SketchUp for Schools with a Google account provided by your Primary or Secondary School via G Suite for Education?
  • Does your School have Google Classrooms enabled?
  • Has your School successfully deployed and accessed other applications from the G Suite Marketplace?
  • What is your School’s email domain?
  • Where is your School located?
  • What browser are you accessing SketchUp for Schools from?
  • What OS are you using?

Thank you, this information is helpful. As I mentioned in my previous post, it will take us some time determine the issue. Please feel free to use my.SketchUp, SketchUp’s free 3D modeling web tool, in the meantime. You will not have access to Google Drive, Google Classrooms, or in-app curriculum with this application, but right now the feature set is identical to SketchUp for Schools. Also, your teachers can still access and make use of SketchUp’s K-12 curriculum from this page.
