Sketchup UI Toolbar Locations Backup

I’ve been searching the internet today and I was unable to find a clear answer on this. I have simple requirement. PC 1 has sketchup installed, and the UI is already set up. PC 2 was exactly the same, but after windows update, was reset to default (like the first time you opened sketchup).
We do not have time to manually set up the toolbars again, so I need to copy the setup for PC 1 and paste it into the appropriate folders on PC 2, so when I open sketchup on PC 2, the UI will look the same without having to waste time on rearranging the toolbars by hand. Which files should I copy over to the second computer to restore the toolbars?

I don’t think what you ask is possible. It would be simpler and faster just to bite the bullet and put the toolbars in place “manually”. Two computers are never quite the same so copying some registry settings over is just too risky.

This is unusual. Windows update should not cause it alone.
Perhaps the user name is changed or the user lost the right permissions. Try to re run the installer while the user is logged in and right click on the installer file chose Run as administrator. When prompted choose Repair.

Everyone has time for what they want.” (As my favourite math teacher said if my homework wasn’t done)

About an hour has passed since your post, if this time is not enough to arrange the toolbar, then the user is doing/knowing something very wrong.

The
c:\Users\User_Name\AppData\Local\SketchUp\SketchUp 2023\SketchUp\
PrivatePreferences.json

file contains info about the location of dialogs, perhaps about toolbars. But also contains some user specific data (path) which most likely differ on computers …I never tried to copy to other comp.

Beside the directory mentioned above SU store important files and setting there:
c:\ProgramData\SketchUp\SketchUp 2023
c:\Users\User_Name\AppData\Roaming\SketchUp\SketchUp 2023

In addition to this topic: at our company we have 2 heavy-load computers who have a much better Grapics Card then most regular computers we are working on. So after a SketchUp building is modelled, we open it on one of the other 2 computers for renderings and we always get that Preferred File Locations pop-up, so annoying…
Is there a general solution to fix that? Because adjusting the locations one by one for all the SKU-models we open daily is a hopeless task.
