Somehow sketchup2025 (second install and repaired with downloaded installer today) at the office crashes on startup opening first file.
Update windows, done.
Update sketchup, repaired.
Update others, all up to date.
At home sketchup2025 (first install) works fine on my laptop, but somehow at the office for days the program crashes.
Already replied to an other open post about sketchup crashing, but no answer/solution found yet.
So i am giving it another go with this new post.
Thanks for the post @AnnoNiem and sorry to hear that you are having trouble getting 2025 to work at your office. If you have not already done so, can you open a support ticket? Filing an official support ticket will get you guaranteed support. It may take a while for the support team to get to your ticket but the sooner you get it filed, the sooner they will reply to you. Additionally, I’ll send a message on your behalf to our support team to see if they can give me an estimate on when they can get back to you.
I’ll also run a few tests on my end to make sure there are no server issues on our end just to rule those out. Finally, I’ll @colin as he is pretty good at solving these things, although he may be busy this morning so it may be a while before he can reply.
Not sure if it is something on your (server) side, since sketchup2025 starts and works fine at home using my old laptop. The “crash” only happens with the desktop workstation at work.
i’ll try to send a ticket tomorow, thanks for your advice.
After downloading the latest SketchUp 2025 installation, I tried repairing the program, but that didn’t solve the problem.
So I tried reinstalling it, which also didn’t solve the startup problem. But somehow, the second attempt at reinstalling SketchUp 2025 seems to have fixed the startup problem
I won’t be able to test the functionality until next week…
Yesterday i re-installed some basic extensions which did not cause any issues.
So today i re-installed our main DL-Light extension and the program once again crashed during startup.
I have informed deluminaelabs about this issue, and shared the indfo with sketchup support.
So i once again will uninstall and re-install sup2025, and wil have to fall back to sup22 to be able to do my work.
wait to see 2026, it’s even worse. they’re adding a random crash timer. every time you launch SU, a timer starts, when it reaches 0, it crashes. I swear. true story. mean mean trimble.
indeed you are mistaken, I get paid to train architects and designers, landscapers, and the odd engineer. no kids there. I also get paid to model stuff.
coming to the forum and helping people I do for free. Someone has to balance your negative energy.
