Sketchup pro stopped running - windows 10

Box has correct idea;
Normally the first thing to do when trouble shooting is get back to operating base line before trying the guessing game and make a number of wholesale changes that may or may not work;
If you have a restore point when operation was ok suggest you try the restore point;
Secondly the installing as admin may not be what you are doing. I have not checked w10 but w7 does not display the elevated admin login at the log on command prompt . This is link for 7 info but have not checked for 10 http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/507-built-administrator-account-enable-disable.html
Add itional FYI for w10

But you need to check that SU is actually being allowed to use it by the OS. Now you have it running.
Go to Window?Preferences/OpenGl and click the Details button and see what it says there.

Makes one wonder why folks have to be told given the history of such things. I am also w7 sp1 and will stay there for while.
MS has stated the updates will now be much quicker so it will be interesting how developer are going to respond to faster regression test to follow changes although IHMO most do a very poor job of that . Initially MS stated they where going to drop 32 app support in w10. I bet that will be one of the first change they make. I have decided to drop windows so may ask for some recommendations from you in future. MS was also using client machines are servers to help on dist of the free upgrade and if I had fell for that running ftp snooper would be one of my first task.

I had a similar problem with Windows 10 when Archicad 12 stopped running. It turned out that I had wiped out Quicktime, being advised that it had a vulnerability. When I reinstalled it, Archicad 12 came back. Perhaps SketchUp Pro shares some files with Quicktime or another app that Windows 10 disregards.

Newer versions of Archicad fortunately do not require QuickTime.

I’m not so sure that Win10 is the culprit causing SU to stop. It has been installed on several of my systems for some time now, one of which has employed the OS for more than 6 months, and SU runs well on each of them. A potential remedy for systems where SU or Windows has begun to function improperly is to simply return the system to an earlier point in time when the workings were satisfactory. It’s also a good idea to periodically run an exhaustive virus scan on your system, to remove files that are no longer needed and to run routine checks to keep the system free of spyware or other data that may infiltrate the system through normal use.
