I am having major issues with Sketchup crashing. It’s constant! My laptop runs a lot of graphic heavy software and i’ve run things simultaneously with no problems. I can have multiple versions of Revit, Navisworks, and Autocad open and running things with no issues. I can have solely Sketchup running and it will crash, repeatedly. Sometimes maybe I can get an hour without crashing, but for the most part its like inevitable. I have made sure all of my graphics cards, software, and hardware are up to date. The graphics card I have is:
nvidia rtx 5000 ada generation laptop gpu
If anyone has any useful advice or suggestions I would really appreciate. I’m using Sketchup Pro 2024.
What operating system? You put 2024 in your profile but it is not an operating system. Do you get Bug Splats when it crashes? Are you sending them in with something to identify that they came from you? Does it happen with even a new file? If it’s happening with your current project file, share the .skp file so we can see what you are working with. Does it happen when you do some specific thing? Did you install SketchUp correctly? That requires right clicking on the downloaded installer and selecting Run as administrator.
Operating System: Windows 10 Enterprise 64-bit
Yes I get Bug Splats when it crashes and I submit them everytime. It happens with new files and/or current files. There is no specific thing that crashes it, it has happened when doing nothing, just being open. I think i installed it correctly, I’ve also re-installed it. I will try that one more time though with the right click.
Do you include your email address? Is it the same one you used when you signed up here? If so, @colin could probably look up the reports to see what they say when he has time.
I’ve been using SketchUp 2024 on Windows 10 with no unusual crashes. I use it for many hours every day and I can’t remember the last time I had a crash. It’s been very stable for me.
