Hi folks
Is anybody else aware of or experience this problem?
With the Zoom Selection tool (menu or shortcut key), what I think should happen is that any item that is selected is centered on, and fills the view.
What does happen is that the camera focuses on the axis of the parent component (instead of the item selected), and the camera is viewing it from the Bottom (not the top).
Then, if we scroll out, and press Zoom Selected again, the camera now flips from the Bottom View to Top View. Then, Zooming out slightly and pressing Zoom Selected will then change it back so it is now looking at the bottom once more.
It seems to become problematic after zooming in and out (with mouse wheel) a couple of times. Zoom in, then try pushing Zoom Extents. zoom selected issue.skp (3.4 MB)
Zoom selection doesn’t usually have a keyboard shortcut, and here you mention zoom extents. Checking to make sure which of the two is misbehaving.
I have no problems zooming a selection at any level in your model. Do you have component edit, hide rest of model, selected? Not that it would stop things from working, but it would make a difference in what gets centered.
At any level in the model, if hide rest of model is checked, doing a zoom extents or a select all, zoom selection, should give the same outcome. Do you ever see them showing different results?
