SketchUp Pro 2021 classic licence: activation stuck on a machine that can no longer run SketchUp

I have a SketchUp Pro 2021 classic licence activated on two computers. One I use daily. The other is an older office machine that can no longer run SketchUp (hardware acceleration is unavailable on its graphics card), so I can’t open SketchUp there to remove the licence.

I’ve installed SketchUp Pro 2021 (21.1.332) on a new laptop, and activation fails with “That doesn’t look like a correct Serial Number and unique Authorization Code for this version of SketchUp”. I’ve typed both codes by hand. The support portal says I don’t have access to support cases.

Could a member of staff help free the activation on the old machine? Happy to share licence details privately. @colin, I’ve seen you help with similar classic licence issues and would be grateful for a look.

The error may be misleading. You have the license installed on three computers. I will send you the details of those, in the hope you then will remember which was the third computer.

For the one that doesn’t have hardware acceleration, how did it ever run SketchUp 2021? You could try a Gemini search for ‘how can i bypass the hardware acceleration error to open sketchup’ to see if it has some suggestions.

Look for a message from me, for the activation details of the three computers.

Thanks for the reply Colin. So, the pc with the Hardware accelleration issue is 17 years old and the graphics card finally crapped out last year. It was painfully slow last I used it. it did used to be my primary driver and could just about handle simple SU models in it’s later years. suffice to say I’ve given up trying to eke it out any further! I’ll check my messages, thanks again
