Classic license activation error

I am reaching out regarding an activation issue with a Classic License (Perpetual) of SketchUp Pro.

I own the legal license for 2020 version including documentation, serial number, and authorization code, and have been regularly using this version trouble free for years. Today (following usual access 2 days ago) I cannot open my Sketchup, getting “due to license error” message.

I am aware the 2020 version is outside of maintenance and support, and Trimble’s policy limited to 3-year support periods. I have also perused FAQ’s and notifications for any advice of recent effects to early versions. I did find a similar issue on this forum from earlier this year, although the response does not help me.

I would be grateful for any positive advice, thank you in advance

In August 2021 you did a deal where you got two years of subscription, based on your existing classic license. It looks like the license was marked in a way that would mean it would continue to work on existing machines, but couldn’t be added to a new machine.

That aside, you had activated the license on three machines, and so a fourth machine would fail anyway.

If you are seeing a problem on an existing machine, try again later, in the hope that there was a temporary issue. If the problem persists, or if you’re trying to activate on a new computer, contact the person who helped you with the subscription in 2021, to see if they can change how the license is marked in our system.
