If I open Layout directly, my templates are there. If I send a file to Layout from SketchUp, they’re not. Layout opens, but I have to go to File/Page Setup to continue. What is the solution? It seems the problem is with SketchUp, but I haven’t been able to localize it. Thanks
Hi Dave - The 1st, ‘SU to LO’ is sending a file from SU. The 2nd ‘Direct to LO’ is if I go directly to LO, opening a new file. This suddenly occurred a couple of weeks ago, before I upgraded to Sequoia. I’ve restarted several times. I’ve been reluctant to do a new SU install but perhaps that is the only solution.
pretty sure that’s not the “choose a template window” we’re seeing but a standard white page
well, regardless of what we see in the captures, it’s working fine in sketchup25 + sonoma.

That is correct - a standard white page from Layout. With that page I can go to File/Setup and chose Ltr/Tabloid, Portrait/Landscape. Nothing more. My templates are in the Library.
If your templates are somewhere else besides the /AppData on Win or ~/Library/ directories, you may need to copy (easiest) or link (a bit harder to do) them to those directories.
On Mac, to link (and therefore only keep one copy), I used
ln -s ~/BARRY2.layout ~/Library/Application\ Support/SketchUp\ 2025/LayOut/Templates/
I could simply copy it there, but if someone else updates them, I’d have to manually update. And it would take up more disk space.

I deleted this post because I don’t think it affects this thread.
You are able to share multiple template files in an external directory by linking the .layout files with the ln -s
command.

The issue was ‘Prompt for Templates’. I must have somehow toggled it off. Thanks all for the input.
human error is the best kind of error, because we don’t need an update to fix it
happy layout-ing then ! and if you have some down time, come to the SketchUp > Gallery and make a thread showing what you do with sketchup. it doesn’t have to be the 8th wonder, we’re all just curious to see stuff
