SketchUp Make 2017 Crashing at Start

Installed SketchUp Make 2017 two weeks ago on my Dell Latitude 7480 laptop and it was working fine until yesterday, when it started crashing at start.

Looked up similar posts on this forum and tried to implement many of the numerous solves, including:

  • Updated the graphics driver (Intel® HD Graphics 520 - version 21.20.16.4821)
  • Unistalled SU (including Microsoft C++ 2015 redistributable 14.0.24215)
  • Installed .NET 4.4k and the C++ Runtime libraries manually.
  • Re-installed SU.
  • Tried to allocate more memory to the graphics card via BIOS (not possible)
  • Downgraded to SU 2016, then SU 2015, then 2016 32 bits - same issue…

I have also run the SketchUp 2017 Checkup application to understand if there was any hardware/system constraints. All minimum requirements met…

I’m sure this must be a small detail preventing SU to work properly, after all it was working just fine until now. Anyone could point me in the right direction here?

Seems like I have similar, went through same staps as you did.
No changes on my side…:confused:

Start Menu > Control Panel > Programs and Features
Choose “View installed updates” in left column.
Make sure View > Details is chosen in the menu.
When the list is built, if the date ordering is wrong, click the “Installed On” column heading to change the sort order.

The updates will be grouped by product and you’ll need to scroll to check each group …

Was there anything listed here just before you had the startup crashes, but before you began your fix attempts ?

Did you enter any information in the BugSplat! report that the Trimblers could use to look it up in their database ?
