Sketchup Layout 2024 Crashes when trying to export ArchE size linework with fill

ketchup Layout 2024 Crashes when trying to export ArchE size linework with fill.

There is no SketchUp model withing the file, it’s only linework and fills.

I wanted to export dwg to open it up in SketchUp to make a 3D floorplan. (kind of and axonometry of outline of a house , a few text and fills.

I managed to save it if the “Export for SketchUp” box was ticked off, but the saved file was not valis (SketchUp failed to open it and ArchiCad opened a small circle)

I saved a PDF, exploded it in ArchiCAD saved a DWG, but the fills didn’t open in SketchUp (and the dashed lines come trough as solid).

I can save a 3D floorplan using a picture, but I need to save the linework as vector (from Layout - so they has to be lines in SketchUp)

Does DWG/DXF import work at all?

I usually save PDF files form drawing with HYBRID rendering option and depending on the files size it does work (sometime it takes ages and works, sometimes (when the model is is complex, it doesn’t), but I never really tried saving DWG/DXF before.

I haven’t used this workflow myself, but what I guess is that things like fills are exported as embedded or linked raster images. Those cannot be imported into SketchUp as the importer only imports “geometry”.

If you want others to take a look, post a LayOut file, and the DWG and PDF files you get when exporting.

Thank you, I can not share the file as I signed an NDA, but the nature of the problem should be clear.

The Layout file only contains the outline of the walls with a fill, some dashed line (over windows and ceiling line) and a few text stating the function of the rooms.

No SketchUp file is attached.

Thank you.

Make a quick sample file with a basic shape and the same fills. Post it here.

Thank you for your help.

I proceeded with the workaround - >

1-I saved a pdf
2-Exploded it in ArchiCAD and saved as dwg
3-I open it in SketchUp and set up layers (for dashed lines and for surfaces - to use materials as fills)
4- there is no I guess I could adjust the lines in Layout
