Sketchup freezes when opening a file - blank window

Since I’ve installed the Twinmotion Datasmith plugin a week ago I’ve been experiencing this issue, making working extremely stressful.

I’m on windows 11, nvidia drivers updated, sketchup 2024 pro.

If I open sketchup directly, the template selection window opens, and 2-3 times out of 10 I can open an empty file from there. But, if I try to open an existing file, 9 times out of 10 the program doesn’t load any further than a blank window (see screenshot).

Any idea on how to troubleshoot this? I removed the datasmith plugin, reinstalled the nvidia drivers, rebooted multiple times, but the result doesn’t change/

Try repairing the SketchUp installation to ensure that it is installed correctly. Find the downloaded installer or download a fresh copy of it. Right click on it and choose Run as administrator then select the Repair option. After it completes do a cold reboot of your computer and try opening SketchUp again. If there’s still issues, there’s another slightly invasive option to try.

I understand the plugin is out of date, and you don’t need it to use Twinmotion, as TM can import SketchUp files directly.
