I sometimes need to use different units as inputs (information cooing from carpenters (feet and fraction inches ) are different from metal workers (mm)).
I know that it’s possible to input dimensions straight to the measurement window. I often use this when I am in feet and fraction inches , then I would input units with mm.
This method doesn’t work when I am set mm and want to input " (inches) . It does work with ’ (feet). I looked it up and there is a suggestion why this is for MAC, but I can’t find an answer for WINDOWS. I am using UK keyboard and the " symbol comes up with SHIFT+2.
Did someone find the solution to this?
I know that you don’t need o input " when you are set to feet and inches units…T
I just tested with my Finnish keyboard. It has the same shift+2 key for " as yours, and it worked. I wonder if the same “smart quotes” setting as on the Mac lurks somewhere inside the Windows language settings, too.
What Region and Keyboard settings do you have ?
e.g. . v , and , v ;
Also you can often setup your keyboard to always use ' & " rather than smart ’ & " etc…
