Sketchup crashes for no reason. Left it open…then it crashes. Uninstalled. End of story.
so, are you asking for help or…?
There is always a reason. Did you send in the bugsplat with your e-mail attached? @colin night be able to look it up.
No…because I’m using Sketchup 2017 in a crappy PC that I’m stuck using because you thought it’s cool to slap a forced subscription in later versions and for free users, we’re stuck using YOUR terrible web version of Sketchup!
neither Anssi nor I are sketchup employees. and the employees you might see around here aren’t the ones in charge of deciding pricing.
You are just as responsible for that as I am.
Sounds good to me.
8GB of RAM, AMD A8 5500 APU, Radeon 7560HD graphics, 2013 PC…What could be causing Sketchup to crash on idle without any input?
Also, I can’t find a way to access the Sketchup crash logs.
Fill in the bugsplat forms and send it with your e-mail address filled in. @colin might be able to look them up.
I would guess that your graphics card driver doesn’t like Windows power saving features or lock up or hibernation kicking in.
What version of SketchUp? What operating system? Still Windows 8.1? Complete your forum profile.
Like I said, 2017 because I can’t afford Pro. I’m on Windows 10.
My computer uses an APU and no, I don’t have it in power saver mode.
Fix your forum profile, then.
SketchUp 2017 hasn’t changed since 2017. What has changed on your computer? That’s where your problem lies.
Done.
The only upgrade I’ve done to my old PC…update the OS…that’s it. My PC has been pretty much as vanilla as it came out of the factory. Can’t afford upgrading it further.
Also, I would try to send a bugsplat report, but can’t because Trimble wouldn’t accept it because 2017 is outdated or I lose my mind and back out of the bugsplat screen and nearly break my PC.
Most likely an update to the os or the graphics drivers is responsible for the crashes. Maybe, as @Anssi suggested, the graphics drivers are kicking SketchUp out when the computer’s been idle.
