SketchUp 3d Summit - Denver, CO. Jun 17 – 19, 2024

I’m not sure if I’m allowed to post non-official SketchUp events so if not, delete it.

This looks like a great time, so I’ve already requested a seat. Some of the names hosting this event will likely be familiar to you.

Interesting, I’ve never heard of this SketchUp conference before, is this the first one? It looks like it is being organized by Michael Brightman, John Brock and others. I would be interested in attending but I’ve got some scheduling conflicts this summer. I always enjoy watching presentations put on by either of these two, excellent stuff.

I think this is the first time for this so maybe you should come down and join us!

■■■■, Bugger ! Amtraking thru Denver 1 week earlier …

It’s a brand new conference that @mikebrightman is putting on this year. I’m super excited to be involved and to see how it goes! It’s a cool new, more in-depth format, which I think will be a lot of fun  :sunglasses:

Well, he has put together a group of the heavy hitters, like yourself and John Brock. Guaranteed to be some very decent presentations. For those of us unable to attend perhaps you guys can record some or all of the sessions and then make those available either publicly or through some sort of subscription. I’m sure this would be an excellent resource for the SketchUp community at large.

Definitely psyched about this event! We’ve pulled our favorite aspects of SketchUp’s 3d Basecamp with a focus on advanced techniques. Format allows for small group sessions during the workshops, end each day with a debate/discussion with the experts, hanging out into the evening with some of the SketchUp crew the first night and happy hour at my office and comedy show next door the next night. It’s going to be a blast! We will be recording all of the 40 minute presentations to share with everyone…

@medeek is always so humble, even though he’s a Heavy Hitter.

I believe that our SU community has some of the most talented artists and working professionals who are grounded and don’t have big egos. Many of you are always ready to jump in and offer valuable input and perspectives on our questions and ideas.

Thank-you for the vote of confidence but I’m not exactly the best presenter or public speaker, at least in my opinion. I like to think my plugins are able to do the talking for me.

I didn’t even know this was taking place. I went to the 2022 basecamp in Vancouver and loved it. Is the summit pretty much the same thing? Originally I was looking at the Dimensions/Sketchup Basecamp in November and came here for some input. We’re a high-end residential design/build company so I was wondering if it would be more beneficial to go to dimensions? All suggestions appreciated! TIA

3D Basecamp is the Trimble official conference, and this one is created by independent third parties. It sounds like this might be more focused on building design and construction than 3D Basecamp which tries to cover everything related to SketchUp. The creators would be better at answer to that.

Mike Brightman, ConDoc Tools developer, is hosting this new event. I too own a high-end residential design/build company, as well as an extension developer (Estimator, Framer, etc.), and use SketchUp in our daily workflow for building digital twins of all of our projects. I will be presenting the topic, along with hands-on demos at the SketchUp Summit. Mike wanted to create an event for a small group of serious SketchUp users to network and learn from each other to empower our businesses. I will also be attending 3D Basecamp/Dimensions. I have attended/presented at the last 3 Basecamps and always look forward to it! I’d love to meet you at either event, always great to learn/share with others in the same space!

yes. yes there will be cold beers. an essential ingredient of any SketchUp event!

This thing is getting out of hand! It appears that @mikebrightman has coerced @Sonder into joining the fray. I wonder what kind of dirt @mikebrightman has on all these guys and who else may be on his list.
