SketchUp 2026 not importing Revit .dwg files at correct origin

Hi all,

Can anyone replicate this issue. I noticed this on a current project and I’ve been out of this world for a bit. We convert Revit files occasionally and historically it’s imported by aligning the corners of the bounding box to SketchUp’s 0,0,0. Usually I can find the true Revit origin by clicking into a 3D element that still has that data - like a ceiling or something.

SketchUp 2025 seemed to fix this issue by automatically aligning the origins. I updated to 2026 and noticed that that function appears to have stopped functioning. Screenshots below - with the exact same DWG files, but in SKP25 and SKP26. You’ll notice that SKP25 is importing automatically aligned the origin point of the revit file, while 2026 is importing the old way.

Not only that, the origins of the 3D elements have also been reset, so there’s something else that’s breaking it further. So I wouldn’t be able to align to the revit origin with my backup method, but luckily I had a previous version in SketchUp 2025 that I was able to locate with.

Can other pro users replicate this? If so, is it an intended change? To be honest, the SKP25 version is more ideal as it reduces the overall steps of the process

Did you check the origin settings on the import dialogue to see if the setting had been changed?

Ope… there it is.. Thanks!
