SketchUp 2026 is here!

Also I can’t choose multiple pages and move them to the end of the document in Layout. I used to be able to do that.

If you go to the following locations you will find what you are looking for. Just copy and paste to the same locations in 2026.

C:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\SketchUp\SketchUp 2025\SketchUp

C:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\SketchUp\SketchUp 2025\LayOut

Thanks for bringing this to our attention. It seems like moving a single page at a time works, but multiple pages does not work properly in the new Windows Qt UI. The same appears to be true when moving a selection of layers in the Layers Inspector. We will be looking at fixing this as quickly as we can.

If I may, I’d like to bring the attention to a persistent bug with shadows when hide rest of model is toggled. It’s very, very, very annoying, especially in the design phase where shadows are to be taken in account.

If we are placed in the shade, everything is inverted

shadow 26

and it can get very crazy in more complex areas

shadow 26b

occurring with both classic and new engine

I know toggling hide rest of model now fixes it (better than 2025), but please bring a real fix ! thanks.

Do hope i will not encounter this during our sun/shade studies, else it’s (yet again) back to version …. ‘22 :sob:

I think @DaveR may have found this or a similar bug to it. We’re investigating now and hope to have a fix in a future release

Great glad you are on it. Did you catch the other issue I mentioned? When you try to relink an image you get this message, see screen shot below. If you go to file>insert Layout recognizes the png files, second screen shot.

I am able to see this as well, and we will look into what is going on.

Sorry for the inconvenience,

Found a bug, it seems.

After using geolocation, my time and date adjustment is greyed out, in the shadow settings, and I cannot change them.

workaround is copying the latitude longitude data, undo the geolocation, and set manual location with those data. That works if you don’t need the actual geolocation terrain model, but only need to get correct location for shadow studies.

On a Mac, latest operating system, and SU26

you’re currently using the environment as a light source, more specifically, in the environment panel, edit, you turned on the first choice, the ability to place the sun where you want.

since you’re placing the sun manually, you can’t set shadows using time and date

That’s good news, no doubt you’ve thought of this? Ideally, it takes materials, templates and components that are stored locally.

Not sure if someone brought this up but I’m just noticing it… not sure if this was a conscious decision. Previously, I could select a softened edge at any point along the line, but now I can’t unless I have hidden geometry turned on:

Shows as “Intersection” instead of “On Edge.”

Maybe something I’ll have to get used to?

I think this has been the situation since Noah was a boy!

Hi, my workaround for this is to type *.* down in the filename box at the bottom, and heh-presto you see your files listed, go figure

Oh, and I saw this bug in LO25 on a colleagues machine, so is this maybe a Win11 problem, rather than a Trimble-Su problem ? (just a thought)…

I must say, I like SU 26 so far. Nice update to the UI with the small scene names and easy migration of all the plugins.

Layouts Tray though seems to have far more space in between the text and elements so this feels like a big step back. Lots of scrolling to do more all the time.
Also a bug; I didn’t install Trimble Scan Essentials for Layout. Layout still keeps asking if it should load a pointcloud (its a project with a pointcloud but the pointcloud is not enabled at the time of saving) and it asks me that for every scene that I have added in Layout. Annoying to have to click ‘no’ several times.

Nope, here it is from Sketchup 2025 as an example:

As you can see, hidden geometry turned off in 2025, but I am still able to locate and select the edge.

I wouldn’t necessarily say it’s a deal breaker, but considering I’ve been able to do this for many a version it’s become second nature, suddenly having this taken away is pretty jarring. So I wanted to know if this was a conscious decision or a bug that needs addressing.

Pretty much, it’s acting like the “edge is hidden” instead of softened. Because if you hide the edge in 2025, you can get pretty much a similar experience.

Good to know that workaround. SU responded saying they saw it at their end and are working on a fix.

oh.. never did that before. Its getting advanced  thank you very much.

Have you got a plugin or function somewhere checked that creates the selection option? I’ve just trialled in ‘25 and seriously, I can’t select a smoothed edge!

You can (in 2025), but only “quater” edges. Try on a cylinder, every 90 degree is selectable. Another question why it so important, - it’s ridiculous to translate edges without seeing the rest.
