What happened to crash #92718?
Probably didn’t send, I was desperately trying to open a project. What I don’t understand is that few hours before, I had no issues, I didn’t install any plugins or updated windows, or anything, just turned off the PC and that’s it. When I manger to open sketchup 2026 4 plugins were updated, all plugins from sketchup developers.
The only way I’ve found to open sketchup 2026 is opening a file with 2025 then open the same file with 2026 as a read only file.
92718 was someone else.
All of your crashes happened while Advanced Camera Tools was loading. You have at least 90 extensions, four or more of which are for rendering. Some of the extensions may be initializing something outside of SketchUp, when you open 2025, in a way that helps 2026 open ok.
You could try removing Advance Camera Tools (Herramientas de cámara avanzadas), see if that is enough. Or start again with getting your extensions into 2026, without using the extension migrator.
I too have been getting random crashes on start up.
Trying to open a file – SketchUp will crash once, twice, three times or more before it will open on the nth attempt.
Colin informed me that Curic 2D was causing many of my crashes and I have since disabled that extension, but I continue to get the occasional crashing where it takes a few attempts before the file opens.
Colin also said that other Curic extensions were causing crashing during initialisation.
As you said Francisco – maybe @curic4su could look into it…
For me, it’s a tedious inconvenience but It would be nice to get it sorted.
Update. I’ve disabled a lot of extensions including the entire Curic ones among others that are not used frequently and I’m still having this issue on windows, on mac there´s no problem, I’ve been working on my macbook the entire weekend and had no crashes, now that I’m back to my pc I still must open 2025 to be able to open 2026.

@colin I don’t know what happened, few weeks ago I could open sketchup 2026 without any issue and I haven’t touched anything on my machine, one day I was able to work with no issues, closed the program, went to sleep, and the next day I couldn’t open so I downloaded 2025 to test, thankfully it helped but it’s cumbersome to open a file with 2025 then open the same file with 2026 just with reading permissions, save with another name or in another location, link to the original file on trimble connect then naming it with the original name.
Possibly a Windows update?
I opened my computer today and I’m having the same problem! Did you find a solution?
crash #102810 and #102717
Both of your crashes were while Lumion was loading. Can you remove that for now, and see if the crashing stops?
In File Explorer you can paste this in, to get to where the plugins are installed:
%AppData%\SketchUp\SketchUp 2026\SketchUp\Plugins\
Move the Lumion file and folder to somewhere else, then start SketchUp.
I have disabled automatic updates. I haven’t updated to the latest version of windows cause I saw a lot of people are having issues with it. Some usb ports are not recognized. Windows is a mess.
I noticed that by some reason, new tools are added to my custom toolbar, if I disable the plugin of the added tool I can open SketchUp next time without a crash. The problem is that the next day another tool is added and I have to keep disabling plugins.
collin i cant seem to find where the plugins are installed. When I paste that into file explorer nothing is found
Do you have SketchUp 2026 installed? Your profile says you are using SketchUp 2022. Maybe you need to edit the path to the correct SketchUp version number.
I’m using sketch up 2026
Okay thank you David that worked. I also updated my profile. I can now open sketch up. I do need to use Sketch up to sync my Lumion rendering projects for clients. Can I reload the Lumion App?
Maybe you’ll get away with reloading Lumion but I wouldn’t count on it unless there’s a new release of Lumion. You should check. You can try it and if the problem comes back you know how to deal with it. Might be worth looking at a different rendering application. Might even be you can use SketchUp 2026’s built in rendering to get suitable results.
Thanks for updating your profile. That info is helpful.
unfortunately it crashed when I tried to reload it. It’s just strange as it was working on friday.
I’ve reached out to Lumion to see if they have any ideas. Thank you for your prompt support. I wish sketch up could create the kind of renderings I can in Lumion. I would love a one stop shop.
@colin I checked the extension manager and i saw this plugin that I don’t remember I installed. Do you know what is it?

uninstalling it doesn’t solve the problem though, I got this crash number after uninstalling that plugin.
