Sketchup 2026 BugSplat on Startup (Win 11 PC v25H2) - at a loss, all fixes don't seem to work

Downloaded offline version of Sketchup 2026 a few days ago. First install of ANY sketchup version for this computer. Sketchup will not startup, immediate BugSplat.

Each of the crashes yielded different numbers (@ this time over a dozen). I logged the crash in each bugsplat.
Went to the tech support form & entered a trouble ticket on 1/27/26. Finally got a response by end of day, but any support help noted had already been found on the bulletin boards & tried, unfortunately. Still, I performed the processes step by step as tech support listed. Did not fix the issue. Replied to the tech support email, but have not heard back as yet (1/29/26).

Then tried downloading SKP 2025 to see if it would start, and it does. The Trimble sign-in screen also loads successfully but then tells me there is no trial for Sketchup 2025 and that I need to download 2026. Frusterating at the least, but moreso at a loss with what to do?

Details:

  • Updated Graphics Drivers the day before any Sketchup versions were installed. (RTX 4090, latest rel: 1/5/26, Studio driver 591.74)
  • Internal Graphics on my CPU chip are disabled (AMD 7950X)
  • Turned off any virus protection, firewalls, & system protection programs prior to install.
  • Installed ā€œoffline installā€ Sketchup 2026 as ā€œadministratorā€.
  • Added Sketchup program to Windows graphics acceleration list in system settings and have tried it with high-performance settings, Low Performance settings & ā€˜Let Windows Decide’ for my RTX 4090 (with no success).
  • Have restarted the system after any or all changes were made.
  • The dozen or so previous crash numbers weren’t saved, but the latest two were:
  • 1/27/26: 3:36 Crash #88722
  • 1/29/26:8:06 Crash #90829

Unclear why the crash numbers are all wildly different if the system settings or eco-system has not changed since the first time I tried to start the program. However, not sure how SKP logs crashes.

Any community help would be appreciated at this point, as I haven’t received any followup from tech support yet.

If you use a lot of plugins try removing them from the plugins folder and restarting with a clean slate. that’s worked for me when I’ve had problems with SketchUp crashing on launch.

Unfortunately, there are no plug-ins in existence, the program was loaded fresh, onto a computer that has never had sketchup on it. The program has never been started because it crashes before it starts.

Hi - so we are having this problem all the time with Sketchup 2026. It crashes as soon as you open it. Try this: Go to Apps in Windows and repair Microsoft Visual Studio - I am not sure which version is messing around with Sketchup - I think it is the 2015-2022 x64 one. I also don’t understand why it is interfering, but we had this on quite a few pcs (we have 14 licenses) . It feels like Microsoft is silently updating VisualStudio C++ occasionally and that messes with Sketchup (And Corel Draw - as a side note). Hitting the repair button fixes it for us. Please report back, if this does anything for you. I’d be VERY interested.

The solution from napperkt is what we have experienced also. The library is either 2015-2022 or it may be listed as v14. Do both x86 and x64.
