Hi
So far I’m liking the changes in the new version, but have hit a stumbling block.
When using perforated metal the texture does not show up. I get a wire frame only. I have environments on and it works fine with other metals as in attached screenshots.
Similar issue with glass, just a wire frame.
I also have Sketchup Go on iPad and in the demo model of the dance centre there is a reflective sky glass. This material has an opacity of 41%, yet if I edit any material to change its opacity, it becomes transparent with any value less than 100.
Any ideas on this please?
This is a known bug in DirectX 12 support of your graphics card driver. Try if updating it would help. Download a newer driver from the AMD website and install it.
You can try if switching to the Classic graphic engine solves the transparency problem, but you will then have to do without the new display features like Ambient Occlusion, Photoreal textures and Environments. When changing graphics options, you must restart SketchUp for them to take effect.
Thank you both. Yes opacity is ok with classic engine, but hardly worth the move over to 2025. Looks like another situation where hardware needs upgrading to support software changes. Working on an inherited PC at work which was supposed to be good CGI/modelling. Not the best advice given, should stick with Nvidia.
