So, as usual, I’m on the fence about whether to update to 2025…
Hoping someone who has migrated mid-project can provide some insights..!
I’m one of the folks who still has to use the Classic graphics engine (due to ongojng crashes, even on totally different hardware), so I was hoping that 2025 might fix some of the bugs that are causing this instability in larger models.
But stability isn’t usually too hot in brand new releases. And I’m in the middle of some major projects. Can’t seem to authorise both 2024 and 2025 at the same time (network/company license) so can’t easily hop between them. 2024 has been a huuuuuuge step back in reliability compared to 2023.
Is 2025 more, or less stable than 2024? Any file-corrupting bugs to watch out for?
Hoping to hear from company users or people who have also found 2024 to be unstable.
Hello
2025 is definitely more stable than 2024
I personally never had corrupted files no matter which version
Don’t forget there’s the new migration tool for your extensions that will speed up the process
Hello! Regarding the update, I’m having a problem I can’t find an answer to.
I updated the software from version 2024 Pro to version 2025, but it’s not Pro!
When I tried to install Datasmith Exporter for SketchUp Pro to communicate with Twinmotion, it wouldn’t let me because the SketchUp version detected isn’t Pro.
In fact, I can’t find a link to the Pro version anywhere on the Trimble download page. I can only download version SketchUp-2025-0-575-244.exe. Am I missing something? Does anyone know what I need to do to download the Pro version? Or where I can find it?
The only thing I’m really interested in is being able to use Datasmith Exporter, but I’d like to try out the new features in Sketchup 2025.
