I switched back to SketchUp 2024

I had to uninstall SketchUp 2025.0.660 because it keeps crashing and causing errors despite my system having high specifications. I switched back to SketchUp 2024, which is really stable and hassle-free to use.

It’s very disappointing that the latest version is unstable compared to the older one. I hope your team can address these issues and release a more reliable update soon, as many users, including myself, rely on SketchUp for professional work. Stability and smooth performance should be the top priority in every new release.

hello, I find 2025 version way more reliable. do you use ambient occlusion and photorealistic materials ? if not, you can try switching to old graphic engine and see if you have less crashes.

It’s also worth checking if you have extensions you did not have in 2024 version that may cause them.

if you have one of the bugsplats number and sent the report, @colin may have a look to it and give you clues about why it happened

What’s the point of using v2025 with old engine? His v2024+stable new engine is better option.

2024 with new engine has many bugs and malfunctioning features

Apart from a serious radial array bug (fixed in 2025), 2024 has way less crashes and at least normally working eye dropper-paint tool
