OK I’ve uninstalled and reinstalled SU just now and finally running two healthy sessions which seem stable. Not sure why it works now and wasn’t working before! If only there was some consistency it would make the problem solving a lot easier!!!
The OpenGL functionality required by SU comes from the graphic driver. SU looks for it when it starts.
All enabled extensions load on SU startup too. To troubleshoot for an extension startup problem, disable the extension(s) then restart SU to see if startup problem still exists.
Also check for extension updates.
