Some people resorted to extracting the .MSI file from the installer. Note the issues about problems installing VC++ mentioned in the above linked thread have now mostly been addressed by first uninstalling VC++ (some distribution from MS were buggy). Don’t forget to install by r-clicking on the installer file and choosing Run as administrator.
