Hello. We are experiencing the same issues for the domain @lcsd.k12.ri.us
Any assistance would be much appreciated. Thank you!
Hi everyone! I’ll do my best to address everyone all at once so just look for your username for the part most relevant to you.
First up is @jjwillia. If you have had access before and no longer can access SketchUp for Schools, it sounds like a setting got messed up somewhere in your account rather than a firewall issue. While I am happy to add your domain to our database to rule it out, I would recommend checking your settings to make sure nothing got changed recently. Specifically I would run through the steps that Tori outlined in her post in this thread:
As for you @sbarber, I have added your domain to our database and if you have already deployed the app then you should be all set to go. If you are still getting a looping login can you please make sure that you are allowing popups from our site as we need to use one to authenticate the log in process. If you already did that please let me know and we can start looking at other causes.
Now on to you @ukohlhase. I was able to confirm that you are already in our database so there is nothing I can do on my ned to assist you on a technical level. I can run you through some troubleshooting steps that you can attempt on your end to get you up and running. Specifically, we need to make sure that the app was deployed correctly for each domain. Can you make sure that the app was deployed correctly for the teacher domain?
Now on to you @awynneaa. If you are running into the same issue as ukohlhase in that a single user on a different domain is unable to log in, you need to do the same and make sure that all domains have the app deployed correctly. Can you do that?
As for you @Andrade I can confirm that you are already in our database so it is not an issue on our end keeping you out. My best guess is that a setting got fouled up or popups are being blocked. Can you confirm that you are allowing pop ups and run through the steps I linked earlier in the post?
Finally I have an answer for you @sketchlcsd. While I was able to get you added to our database without issue, if the sign in is looping as opposed to displaying the “Are you in the right place?” message, it is far more likely that a setting on your end is the cause. Please make sure you are allowing pop ups and also run through the steps I linked earlier in this post.
Hello @CaseyG - the app is deployed fine and everyone but this teacher at the middle school is able to log in. Note that he was able to log in fine before August 19th and has been for years so we need to get him out of the sign-in loop and logged back into SketchUp.
Thanks for the reply @ukohlhase. If you already had access in the past and now are no longer able to access SketchUp for Schools on that account that indicates to me that some setting somewhere got changed on your end as we have not made any changes to the access process around the time you mentioned.
If you are sure that you did not un-deploy the app or change any settings on the admin side of things that seems to imply that the settings we are looking for are account level settings. The 3 most common solutions for that are:
- Making sure that popups and redirects have been allowed for the edu.sketchup.com address.
- Making sure that third party cookies have been allowed.
- Making sure that in Google’s privacy settings, under the “Additional permissions” tab, that Third-party sign-in has been enabled.
If you already have done all of that and are sure that the app is deployed correctly and have cleared cookies and cached files then we may have to dig a bit deeper to find an answer for you. Let me know if any of the aforementioned steps help at all. If not, I’ll start looking into things and will ask you for some additional information like your domain and browser version.
