Show the Page number somewhere other than the Pages tray

I often want to export a single page from a Layout Document. (When I create docs, I number all of my pages using a Drawing Number index system.)

Unfortunately, when I export a single page, I often run into this issue:

select File …Export …choose PDF.. navigate to a windows folder to export it to…give it a file name..check the export settings…and OOPs!

…I forgot to remember which Page number it is!

Then I have to restart the process.

It only take as minute, but i happens frequently enough that if i added up all the minutes lost, i could do something useful. And usually this happens when im rushing to meet a deadline.

Can the Tab show the page number in brackets , after the file name? Or think of another convenient place to put it? Or have an option “Export current page” somewhere in the exporter dialogues?

Also it would be handy if the exporter remembered the last page number that was exported, rather than defaulting to the whole page range each type.

Thanks

Good suggestions. Until they get implemented you could make a text box with the page number auto text tag outside of the paper space for reference in cases like this.

Oh yeah that would work!
thanks

I have been fiddling my LayOut To PDF extension:

to incorporate ‘Drawing-sets’ (or Page-sets) which might be useful:

There are a few caveats when working with documents opened in LayOut, though. What kind of (index) names do you use for a typical set?

Maybe the export dialog could also have a “Current Page” option?
