Shadows don't show on terrain

I imported terrain from Google Earth. Shadows don’t show on the terrain. If I check “On Ground” in the shadows window, shadows project onto the 0 elevation plane, but not on the actual ground of the GE terrain.
What’s going on here? How can I fix it?

Make sure your 3D terrain mesh is allowed to receive shadows. Select the terrain and look in the Entity Info panel.

Also your profile doesn’t list your operating system and SketchUp version. Please, consider filling it in, so it can be easier to identify the reason of the problem.

I’m on a Windows 10 computer using SketchUp Pro 2016.

I checked the terrain. Checking “Receive shadows” in the Entity Info window fixed the problem.
