I inadvertently changed the appearance of the selection tool to what appears as an “equal” sign with 2 arrows, one pointing up, the other pointing down. It still selects, but I don’t like it. I can’t figure out how to restore the original appearance.
Thanks for any advice,
Arne
How did you do that? There’s no native option to do that in SketchUp. What version of SketchUp are you using? Are you still using Windows 7 and Intel graphics as indicated in your forum profile?
Thanks for your reply. I am running windows 11. In other programs my cursor is unchanged. But in the SU models I’m working on it is the same across all of them. Because I’m on a learning curve I hit a lot of buttons that I shouldn’t. But this is the first time I couldn’t “undo” it. It seems to be a system setting since it’s true for all my modeling. The icon seems to behave exactly like the standard arrow.

I’m using Sketchup23 with Windows11
Yes to Intel graphics.
Fix your forum profile. It’s very out of date.
Have you tried a cold reboot of your computer?
If that doesn’t work, reinstall SketchUp ensuring you right click on the downloaded installer and select Run as administrator.
Maybe now is the time to update to SketchUp 2025. I guess you have a current subscription so you can update to SketchUp 2025 at no charge.
The same graphics card as indicated in your profile?
