When using the selection tool to select multiple items selection box lines are not visible.

That sounds like it could be your graphic card. You can verify this by temporarily disable hardware acceleration under Preferences > OpenGL.
If that makes the lines become visible it’s a graphic card issue for sure and you should try to update your drivers. You might want to check if your graphic card meets the requirement of SketchUp.

Problem solved.
OpenGL
go to Multisample anti=aliasing
Select and make sure the setting is “0x”

You mention two graphic cards in your post, make sure the Nvidia one is being used by Sketchup.
