Seeming height limit on lines and guides for a single story house roof

I am drawing a single story house in Sketchup web and ipad. There seems to be a limit of how tall I can draw lines and guides of around 15 feet above the origin line. Does anyone know why sketchup will not allow me to draw taller?

There shouldn’t be any limit. At least practically. How are you drawing those edges?

Mostly just guidelines so far, after the roof is outlined with guides I plan to create the shapes with the pencil and then push pull tool.

Share the model file.

From the excess geometry it’s clear you’re at least working too hard as you are drawing these walls. There should be no exposed blue back faces and the walls should be one monolithic bunch of geometry.

The blue back face is another weird thing, it is just the one wall in the house. Do you know what causes that?

Typically it occurs when you aren’t doing your modeling correctly. You can right click on it and choose Reverse Faces but you shouldn’t need to do that if you create the geometry correctly.

You need to download the .skp file to your computer and share that. All you’ve done is provided a viewer link but I can’t actually do anything in the file that way.

It could be you have section cuts turned on and there’s a section plane somewhere in space above your model. That’s my best first guess.

Looks like you are simply running into the edge, a second pull will work if that is the case.

Thanks very much, that was it. I raised the section higher than the roof needs to be and all the lines went up taller. I also tried erasing the section and that also worked.

I will have to learn how to do that - down load the file. Right now if I down load it I cannot reopen it to see if it is correct to send to you.

Anyway the other guy had a suggestion that worked - turn off the section plane that was hidden. This worked.

The odd thing with this is i thought section plane when i read the thread title but the screenshot didn’t look like it, no section fill or seeing inside the walls.

The truncated guide lines gave it away to me. They should keep going forever and only a section plane cuts them off in space.

I was looking on my phone and only really looked at the guide that has a c point.
But good point when you look at the others.
