Hello everyone, I am a complete beginner in 3d rendering and anything graphics related. I would love some guidance. Of course I could chat chatgpt but nothing beats seeking guidance from people who have been there before me. I’ll appreciate every advice available. Thank you.
It would help if you clarify the SketchUp version you are using. You put SketchUp Classic 2025. Is that a cr acked version?
What kind of subjects are you planning to model and rendering? How are you using the results?
I actually haven’t downloaded anything. To be honest I just finished my research, looked on YouTube and clicked the link to come here. I have an interest in 3d interior design, I’m not sure what tools to use to begin that journey.
Then start by downloading and installing SketchUp 2026 for Desktop and get a subscription. Probably a Studio subscription makes sense in your case since you want to also do rendering and you get Vray with that subscription.
Correct your forum profile. There’s no Classic license for SketchUp. Also put the model of graphics card in your profile. 8gb. If the information in your profile is correct it makes it easier for us to help you when you have questions. The information you did put in your profile just makes it more difficult.
Then start with the SketchUp and other turoials at learn.trimble.com
I appreciate your response. To be honest I just chose whatever when I was creating my profile since I had no idea what I was doing, I figured I would get the guidance I needed by asking questions. Thank you.
Let’s make sure we are defining our terms so we understand each other. “Rendering” in the context of 3D modeling generally refers to making photo realistic images including light, surface textures, shadows… something that looks “real”. It’s generally a later step in the design process as a way to anticipate what the design choices will look like in the real world. It is also a more advanced stage of 3D design work. Is that what you are interested in? Do you have any experience with 3D modeling first?
If you are interested in in interior design? And are just discovering 3D modeling you might start with a free SketchUp online account which will allow you to use, learn and progress with SketchUp Free at no cost. There are some good multi step tutorials for beginners on the SketchUp website too.
