Getting start with rendering - some recommendation?

What are you going to use it for?
Which rendering software are you using? Or you want a recommendation for rendering software as well?

I asked a similar question last year. Have a read through this for what to look at, then youtube for tutorials.

Which render engine?

I’ve been using Sketchup for almost a year now and although with my work I don’t use it all the time, I do get some jobs where it credits me spending a few days drawing a kitchen or bedroom design etc. I looked at a couple of render extensions some time ago but didn’t have much of a clue on how to use them. I don’t need it right now, but probably when I finish some model I’d like to make it look better.
