Scrapbook Scales Not Correct

This will likely be one of those “Doh!” posts, but I did a search and couldn’t find a similar situation:

Imported Sketchup model viewport @ 1:16 scale
dimensioning tool on “auto scale”
scrapbook scale graphic set to “1:16” scale

test.skp (129.0 KB)
test.layout (139.8 KB)

numbers don’t match!

Do you have to manually scale the scale!?

Cheers and thank you-
Sean

Ok well this is one of those self-healing threads…

I realized I may have had lofty expectations thinking that the scrapbook scales were actually scale-able.

I now understand we have to make them ourselves, or modify the sample scales to conform to the various scaled drawings in our files..

for anyone landing here.. this video helped me understand the situation:

TL;DR: build your own using the scaled drawing feature.

Cheers,
Sean

FWIW, the scale is a Scaled Drawing object so you can just right click on it and choose the desired scale in the list. Or do that via the Scaled Drawing panel in the tray. You might need to change the font size for the numbers depending on the scale you select.

A little off topic but another FWIW: If, after clicking to set the second anchor point for your dimension, you hold Command (Alt on PC), you can drag out the dimension so the extension lines are vertical instead of being angled.
