School managed chromebooks (HP G9 EE) having login issues

I have a mixed lab environment (some managed ethernet Mac Minis, students on personal devices, and students on district managed Chromebooks). Since the update a couple of days ago we’ve really struggled to the district managed Chromebooks to load edu.sketchup.com. The other two groups seem fine.

I’ve tried Powerwashing and hard restarts.

It doesn’t seem like we can delete cookies. The other difference is that the student persoanl devices go on a more open district network and the district managed devices go on a more restrictive network.

Thanks. Any help is great.

Hmm, that is a new one for me @mark.mabbett. If there is a way to access SketchUp from any of the accounts associated with a student or teacher that means that the firewall on our end is not the issue and that something on your end is the cause of the issue. Typically it is an account level permission issue but if the issue is not consistent across all computers that means that the issue is somewhere else.

I’ll start us off with a ping to @Tori_SU to see if she has any insight but in the meantime it would be helpful if you could collect some additional information for me.

Specifically, it would be helpful to know:

  1. Are you using a Google or Microsoft environment to deploy the app to your students?
  2. Are the accounts all on the same domain?
  3. If you are using Google are you sure that you deployed the app via a super admin?
  4. If you have multiple domains, are you sure you deployed SketchUp across all the domains correctly?
  5. What browser are you using to access SketchUp for Schools?
  6. What operating system version are your Chromebooks running?

Please add some screen-shots about the issue.
