Scaling issue between Layout Scales

In Sketchup my roof overhand has 20":
Screenshot 2023-11-01 at 11.54.36 AM

I imported it to Layout with a 1:120 Scale, and it still shows 20":

I changed the scale to 1:96 and now all of a sudden it shows 25":

(The first sketchup screenshot is rotated, it actually is the same area of the drawing like the other two screenshots)

What am I missing? I did not experience this before.

errrrm…

It’s probably easier to say if you share your file. If it’s not too heavy, just by dragging it here, or using wetransfert or similar solution.
You can even remove the extra pages and leave just the culprit.

You’re right, it shouldn’t change dimension. The only thing I’m thinking of right now is that you have exploded the drawing and changed the unit of the result… and still, it should retain 20"

hence the need to see the file

edit : Or, you know, auto dimension.

Do you have the dimension set to Auto Scale?

oh wow! What an easy fix. I never ran into this problem, when working on a file on my own, I got this from my assistant and was totally thrown off by it. Thank you.

What was the easy fix?

auto scale I think.
changing the drawing scale made it bigger, but the dimension was still 1/120

@Moky , you should mark up @DaveR 's answer about Auto Scale as the solution so everyone would see what the “easy fix” is.
