Sandbox extension trouble?

My sandbox tool disappeared from SUpro17. I’ve installed it again as an extension but I still can’t access it. What am I missing?

It should automatically load from SketchUp’s “shipped-extensions”, unless you have it disabled in the Extension Manager…

Another idea…
When you installed SketchUp did you select the SketchUp installer exe file, right-click > context-menu > “Run as Administrator…”
If you dis not do that it can affect the way that SketchUp works - in several unpredictable ways…

You probably do not need to uninstall and start again, instead you should first try ‘repairing’ it…
Ensure SketchUp is closed.
Select the SketchUp installer exe file [probably in your Downloads folder - ore re-download it again ?], right-click > context-menu > “Run as Administrator…”
When prompted choose “Repair”.
When it completes, does SketchUp work any better ???

Thanks for the advice. Unfortunately it doesn’t seem to have worked. I clicked on run as administrator and it loaded but I wasn’t prompted to repair. When I opened my sketchup file again, it showed the Load errors (i realised after I posted that this listed the sandbox tools). any other ideas?

Please post the LoadErrors you see delimited by triple backtick lines (with “text” specified on the firt line):

Go to the Extension Warehouse from within SketchUp, and see if there are updates for Sandbox, Dynamic Components, Web Textures, Trimble Connect and Advanced Camera Tools. (Update if needed.)


Also check if the toolbar is switched off in View > Toolbars…

Just checking you got the right one, Tig was referring to the Install .exe not the Program .exe

The file name in my downloads refers to it as sketchup pro 2017 64bit installer so i presume so? there doesn’t appear to be another.

yes, i’ve been through the toolbars. Sandbox isn’t even listed. As for updates, the sandbox extension was only installed this evening. I’ve just double checked and it is the most recent. Up until I started trying to work out where it had gone tonight, I had thought sandbox was just another set of tools, not an extension to be loaded in. I’d never had to install it previously. The only reason I thought to look in extensions for it was from googling my issue this evening. Anyway, long story short, there are no updates.

It is distributed with SketchUp, along with a handful of the others I mentioned above.

We will not be able to help much, until you paste the error messages.

Just as a longshot, when things act strangely, I hard reboot my computer.
