Hello.
I have been tinkering around with Sketchup for a little now. I use SketchUp to make board game trays, just simple little trays for game components. I use foam core to make the trays, but during the foam core is very tidious.
Anyway, I’m getting a 3D printer to help.
Sometimes the components are thumbnail size and inn a rectangle/square shaped tray, can be difficult to get the pieces out. I would like to put a curve near the walls and bottom on the inside of the tray.
If you could tell me what I’d need to create it, I can read and research it myself.
Thank you in advance.
You can just use follow me to make a small radius around the bottom of the tray, but it sounds like you should have a look at Fredo’s Round Corner tool. Or his newer Fredo Corner.
Ok, I must be missing something. I’ve watched a few videos but I cannot seem to get the wall to base to work right. I keep getting INVALID More than 2 faces.
Any idea what I’m doing wrong?
I can get the top of the wall to work.
Post some screen shots or better yet the SU file if your able. Will make it easier for people to help out.
Here is the file. Tray1.skp (1.2 MB)
I am wanting to make a slope in the bottom so the game components are easier to come out. I thought I did it before, but I can’t figure it out now.
Uh, YEAH! The deeper and more, I mean.
How did you do that? LOL
I used Fredocorner which was recommended by Box.
It’s a little unclear as to which version of SketchUp you are using. You posted in the non-web SketchUp category and your profile says you have SketchUp 2019 which is the current pro version but it also says you are using SketchUp Free which is the browser based version. Your file doesn’t appear to have come from the browser based version, though. Which version are you really using?
I have installed Sketchup on my ccomputer, like within the last few months. I don’t pay for it.
Which version are you using then?
SketchUp Make V. 17.2.2555 64 bit
Please update your profile so that it correctly indicates the version you are using.
I used FredoCorner to round the corner as Box suggested.
(Not sure why, but it works now.) I see why it wasn’t working. I had 4 walls and a base. When I deleted the lines to make it a solid item, I was able to make it work properly. I kept getting INVALID- more than 2 faces.
Thank you for your help!
My apologizes about having the wrong version. I did not think I was using Make.
P.S.
And I updated my Profile. Thank you for the correction.
