Ridges in a Cylinder

I am looking for a quick way to make ridges in a cilinder. I tried with the follow me tool but it didn’t work at all. I need to make a simple button. Who can help me?

We need more to go on, could you at least show us an image of what you are trying to produce.

It’s possible you are working too small, try scaling up by 100 and see if follow me does what you need.

As @Box pointed out, we could help you better if you provided more information. However, I made a ridged cylinder and then made it into a knob for fun. Probably not what you’re looking for, but I’m bored :wink:
