Hi @DaveR, yes I think that is one of the reasons why the file became heavy… I didn’t purge the unused componenets… another thing I learned from this conversation:)
Hello, I have the same problem, could anyone help me? I can’t open the file on any computer WeTransfer - Send Large Files & Share Photos Online - Up to 2GB Free
Where have you been saving the file while you were working on it? What version of SketchUp are you using. There is no SketchUp for Schools 2022 as you put in your profile and SketchUp for Schools is a web based version for primary school children.
From what I can see these files are trashed.
I must have filled out something wrong in the profile, I’m trying to use Google Translate to look for support here on this site, as I couldn’t find it elsewhere. Until the beginning of the week the files were opening normally, and now this warning is being given.
Click on the H in the green circle at the top right of the forum. Then click on the person icon, then Preferneces, then Profile. Fix the incorrect information and scroll to the bottom of the page and save the changes.
I asked where you’ve been saving the file. This kind of issue seems to occur when working on files on external drives and cloud drives.
Ah ok, I think I understand! I believe I modified the information about sketchup in the profile.
I usually save these files on an external hard drive, I always use them like that.
I remember opening them on Tuesday and everything was fine.
Today I tried to open both versions, but both have problems.
I tried opening them in sketchup online too, but it didn’t work.
That has proven to be a problem for many users. Best practice is to save the file to the internal drive while you are working on it.
They won’t open in SketchUp. Even the file headers are corrupted. At this point I think you’ll need to start over.
ohh Dave It’s a desperate feeling.
But I thank you anyway for all your help, sorry for any inconvenience.
Good saturday for u
I understand. It’s safer to copy files to an external drive than it is to work on them while they are saved there. Hopefully you can remake the model fairly quickly.
Have a good weekend.
I have the same issues. Can @DaveR help to provide me on how to repair/resolve the file?
The file is on my local laptop.
You may see the file here

What version of SketchUp are you really using? There is no SketchUp for Schools 22.0.315. Are you using a cracked version of SketchUp?
Neither the .skp nor the .skb file are SketchUp files. They don’t even have the correct header.
No, I forgot the Sketchup version since the PC has been reinstalled. Can it be restored?
So, I tried to open it using another version of SketchUp. Is that an issue?
Actually, the file got formatted and I just finished restoring it. But, after I restore it, it can be opened.
Is there any way to fix it?
I reupload the file.

The files are not recoverable. Can you open the latest file you shared?
Fix your forum profile with the correct information.
Do you?
After a couple month your profile still says you’re using « free 2023 »
AYUDENME PORFAS,
TENGO EL MISMO PROBLEMA
no puedo abrir el archivo de ninguna manera intente online y con sketchup en dos laptops diferentes @colin @DaveR
I couldn’t open it either. Perhaps @colin might have sharper tools for it.
Relax! I tried and had no luck. Maybe Colin will but you have to give him time to try.
