Resolving “This does not appear to be a SketchUp model!” errors #2

I couldn’t recover anything in the scene, but did get materials and components. You won’t see anything in the model, but check the Components tray to see if there is something worth using to rebuild the model.

Hi, im having the same problem in one of my skp models, could someone help me checking it please.

You have to make the file accessible if you want us to be able to help you.

Where are you saving the file while you are working on it? What operating system? Presumably Windows 10 or Windows 11. Intel I7 is not an operating system. Your profile says you are using SketchUp 2021. Is that a cracked version?

I made it on my school computer, the file I been saving it on my USB and is a file for my school class, idk if is cracked but that’s the specification the school gave me, and the operating system is windows 11

This has proven to be a problems for many users. Unfortunately your file has nothing in it. It’s totally empty. Is there a .skb backup file.

I had one backup file and tried to convert it from skb to skp, but the same happened when I tried to open it. this one appears to have information on the file but idk 02-SPA DE TORRE (2).skp - Google Drive

That isn’t a SketchUp file either. It has data in it but nothing that looks like it came from SketchUp. I guess you’ll need to start over. While you are working on it save it to the internal drive of the computer. Copy it to the USB drive after you’ve saved the file.

@colin or other friends, I have the same error with the file, could you help me?
Sketchup crashed my entire computer and when I restarted, the file no longer opened.

I leave it as a link below, thank you for your attention

Your .skp file is about half filled with zeroes. It’s not recoverable. What opearting system are you using? You put “2024” in your forum profile but that doesn’t identify an operating system.

Where have you been saving the file while you were working on it?

I use Windows 11, Sketchup version 2024, the file is used on my only local system disk.

Put that in your forum profile.

Can you find the .skb backup file and try to open it? Change the extension to .skp and see if it’ll open.

I don’t suppose you were also saving the file to your Trimble Connect storage were you?

Sorry. I don’t know why this happens with files saved to internal drives but I would suggest going forward that you save locally AND save to your Trimble Connect storage so you have files in both places.

Unfortunately problems happen, I will synchronize all my work. Thank you for your attention.

i have the same problem, please help!!! @DaveR @colin

here is the link to my files

You have to make the file available. Currently I get an “Access Denied” message when I follow the link.

Where have you been saving the file while working on it? What version of SketchUp are you really using? You put SketchUp for Schools 2023 in your forum profile. SketchUp for Schools is a web based version for school children. Are actually you using a cracked version of SketchUp?

Sorry, you can now acces the link,

I am Using Sketchup 2023, please help!

So a cracked version of 2023? Please correct your profile while I’m working on your file.

Where have you been saving the file while you were working on it?
